PTW series Automatic PT COIL winding machines are designed and developed to wind
HV coils of HV Instrument Transformers.

This machine facilitates winding of more than one coil simultaneously on a single winding shaft

Servo controlled system enables to wind the conductor and insulation precisely with the high speed and required tension.

The progressive paper cutting unit enhances productivity due to reduced human intervention (paper cutting and pasting manually to coil is completely eliminated).

The closed loop automatic gluing mechanism ensures the sticking of insulation paper between the winding layers.

MACHINE DESIGN

The machine is assembled on a robotic welded steel structure to accommodate all components and controls.
A machine comprises the following components:

MAIN WINDING HEAD

Single Spindle side loading type with precision AC Servo motor continuously variable type through close loop system.

TRAVERSE UNIT

Low backlash high precision ball screw mounted on high precision guide ways to accommodate round conductor with programmable Tension control system.

TAILSTOCK

Pneumatically operated with close loop interlocking with mandrel.

WINDING MANDREL

Direct driven shaft with cone type arrangement to accommodate variable size of ID of LV coils.

GLUING MECHANISM

The gluing mechanism for stitching the interlayer insulation with pneumatic control and programmed for number and type of glues.

PAPER FEEDING UNIT

Automatically fed insulation paper with progressive cut mechanism and layer build up for every layer based on programmed parameters.

CONTROL CONSOLE

Programmable Logic controlled System with touch screen based operator interface.
